Ticket sales are handled exclusively by FIFA and began with a Visa presale in September 2025, followed by a ballot system in October and a wider draw between December and January. With those stages now complete, two final phases remain.
The current phase is the last-minute sales window, where tickets are released on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be followed by FIFA's official resale platform, allowing fans to buy and sell tickets securely through the governing body. Access requires a registered FIFA account and valid payment details.
Prices vary significantly depending on both seat location and stage of the tournament. Category 1 seats, offering the best views, range from around €350 (£300) in the group stage to as much as €9,400 (£8,100) for the final. Category 2 tickets span roughly €265 (£230) to €6,300 (£5,450), while Category 3 ranges from €120 (£100) to €4,900 (£4,250).
Category 4 is reserved for residents of the host nations and is only available during the group stage, with prices between €60 (£50) and €510 (£440). There is also a special allocation for participating federations, allowing a limited number of discounted tickets at around €55 (£48) per match for supporters.
The opening match follows a separate pricing structure, with tickets ranging from approximately €510 (£440) to €2,550 (£2,200) depending on the category.
These figures have sparked criticism from fan groups and associations, who argue that costs are becoming prohibitive. FIFA, however, points to unprecedented global demand to justify its pricing model.
The secondary market has added further controversy, with some resale listings for the final reportedly reaching extreme figures.
