Matchday 34 of La Liga EA Sports marks the arrival of the final sprint of the competition, with five games to go until the end. At the top, the title is all but decided, while, at the bottom, Oviedo will be keen to ensure that the blow they received at home to Elche is not the final one. The bottom half has yet to be formed, and there are historic sides, such as Sevilla, with their necks in the water. Here are our predictions for matchday 34 of the Spanish Primera Division.
Girona v Mallorca: Friday, 20:00 BST

Girona and Mallorca are the main characters of an attractive match to open the 34th round of La Liga EA Sports. The Montilivi side and the Balearic islanders both have one eye on the relegation scrap, especially the islanders. Míchel's side have scored one or two goals in 10 of their last 11 competitive matches, and in eight of their last ten home games, while Demichelis' side have conceded one or two goals in seven of their last nine away games. The Catalans have also managed to score against Mallorca once or twice in six of the last eight meetings between the two sides, and in four of the last six played at Montilivi.
Tip: Girona to score one or two goals - 8/13 @ bet365.
Bet Explanation: This bet is a winner if Girona score, but fall short of three goals.
Villarreal v Levante: Saturday, 13:00 BST

Villarreal look to consolidate their third place against a Levante side desperate for points to reach salvation. Los Groguets are one of the best home sides in the competition, while Los Granotas, second-bottom but on the up, are not scoring consistently away from home. We expect Marcelino's side to make home advantage count.
Tip: Villarreal win - 7/10 @ bet365.
Bet Explanation: This bet is a winner if Villarreal win.
Valencia v Atletico Madrid: Saturday, 15:15 BST

Atletico are faced with this uncomfortable away game right in the middle of a tough Champions League semi-final tie. Few games in the history of Atlético de Madrid will have been more of a hindrance to Simeone's side. In front of them is a Valencia team that has gained solidity and is looking to confirm their place in the first division. Atletico are expected to rotate a lot of players, so we are betting on a double chance of a Valencian victory or draw. The Valencianistas have won three of their last four home games in the league, whilst Atlético, rotating and engrossed in other battles, have lost their last three away games in the competition.
Tip: Valencia win or draw - 2/7 @ bet365.
Bet Explanation: This bet is a winner if Atletico don't win
Osasuna v Barcelona: Saturday, 20:00 BST

Barça face the first matchday in which they can be mathematically league champions, although they must win in one of the most complicated stadiums in the competition, against a team fighting for Europe, and they do so as one of the best home sides in the league (W9, D5, L2). Barça are coming off the back of a win at Getafe and will be hoping for a repeat performance in Pamplona. The Culés are the league's top scorers with 87 goals in 33 games (2.6 per game) and are also the highest scorers away from home with 35 goals in 16 away games (2.19 per game). We expect Flick's side to score more than two goals again, as they have done in their last three away games and 11 of their last 12 visits to Osasuna.
Tip: Barcelona score between two and six goals - 4/7 @ bet365.
Bet Explanation: This bet is a winner if Barcelona score more than one goal and fewer than seven.
Celta v Elche: Sunday, 13:00 BST

Celta must beat Elche if they are to stay in with a chance of returning to Europe next season. Elche, for their part, have been able to breathe after three wins in a row, but they would still need a point or two more to breathe easier and forget about the spectre of relegation. Being two teams that don't hide and need goals and points, we expect three or more goals in total, as has happened in 20 of Elche's 33 league games, including 10 of the 16 they have played away from home, and in six of the last seven official games for the Galicians, who have also seen four of their last five home games reach those figures. The match between the two in the first leg also did so (2-1 to Sarabia's side).
Prediction: Over 2.5 goals - 8/11 at bet365.
Bet Explanation: This bet is a winner if the match has three or more goals in total.
Betis v Real Oviedo: Sunday, 17:30 BST

Betis are all but assured of fifth place in La Liga EA Sports, which could be Champions League, although they have yet to mathematically confirm it, and head into this weekend six points clear of Getafe and Celta. Oviedo, for their part, look all but certain to be going down, coming into the weekend seven points adrift of safety with 15 to play for. We found a combination that could be interesting, as 12 of Betis' last 15 games have had between one and four total goals, and they have scored between one and three goals in six of their last seven home games. On Oviedo's side, 11 of their last 13 official games have had between one and four goals.
Bet Explanation: This bet is a winner if the match has between one and four total goals, and Betis score, but less than four goals.
Espanyol v Real Madrid: Sunday, 20:00 BST

Espanyol are by far the worst team in La Liga this 2026, with just six points from their last 42. At home, though, they are managing to get the odd draw to help them stay more than a game clear of relegation. Opposing them is a dispirited Real Madrid, no longer in contention for the title, whose stars seem more concerned with keeping their fitness levels up and being fit for the World Cup, according to many sources. Nevertheless, Los Blancos are a powerful team with plenty of attacking ability. Los Blancos have scored one or two goals in six of their last eight official matches, also in 11 of their last 12 away matches in all competitions (Munich being the exception). Furthermore, 12 of Los Madridistas' last 15 games have had between one and four goals, and that statistic is also true of 12 of Espanyol's last 13 home games.
Bet Explanation: This bet is a winner if the match has between one and four total goals and Madrid score one or two goals.
