Sunday's El Clasico is undoubtedly the marquee fixture of this weekend's LaLiga action, with Barcelona aiming to extend their perfect start against an in-form Real Madrid outfit. With their two main title rivals facing one another in Catalonia, Atletico will hope to take full advantage when they take on Deportivo la Coruna at the Metropolitano.

The clash at the Camp Nou will attract the bulk of the weekend's media attention, but Celta Vigo's Balaidos will host another appealing contest when Real Betis land in Galicia, while the meeting between Real Sociedad and Levante promises plenty of action in both penalty boxes.

There is also a Valencian Community derby between Valencia and Villarreal. Therefore, there is far more to this matchday than just the El Clasico. We've posted our predictions for this weekend's Spanish top-flight fixture card below....

Alaves vs Malaga, Friday, 20:00

Alavés - Málaga
Alavés - MálagaFlashscore

Alaves are on a run of five matches without a victory, while rock-bottom Málaga are yet to record a win this season.

The Babazorros won each of their first three home matches of the season, and we expect Sanchez Flores' side to return to winning ways by beating newly-promoted Malaga.

The visitors have picked up just one point away from La Rosaleda this term and have lost on each of their last two visits to Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Prediction: Alavés to win: 8/11 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet lands if Alavés win the match

Rayo Vallecano vs Elche, Saturday, 13:00

Rayo Vallecano - Elche
Rayo Vallecano - ElcheFlashscore

The Vallecas natives vented their frustrations in their team's previous home match by throwing objects onto the pitch, which eventually caused referee Jose Maria Sanchez Martínez to call the match off. However, we expect the hosts to quickly move on from this unsavoury episode.

Rayo have scored either one or two goals in seven of their last eight fixtures, with the only exception in this sequence coming in a 3-2 triumph over Racing Santander.

Having already conceded on 17 occasions this term, Elche are certainly susceptible to shipping goals. However, their defensive record has improved as of late, keeping two clean sheets and conceding more than twice in just one of their last three outings (a 3-2 loss to title-chasing Real Madrid on home soil).

It's worth noting that Elche have conceded one or two goals in each of their last visits to the Estadio de Vallecas.

Prediction: 1-2 Home Goals Range: 8/13 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet lands if Rayo score either one or two goals.

Racing Santander vs Espanyol, Saturday, 15:15

Racing - Espanyol
Racing - EspanyolFlashscore

Espanyol head to Santander amidst a difficult run of form, but the Periquitos will be buoyed by the fact that they have scored in all four of the league away matches this season.

Nevertheless, Racing Santander have also scored in each of their four outings at the Estadio El Sardinero. Therefore, we expect both teams to find the net this weekend.

Both sides have produced a poor set of recent results, collecting just one point between them over the last four matchdays. That leaves Saturday's opponents locked together on eight points, separated only by goal difference.

The Cantabrians have also failed to keep a clean sheet in any match this season, while Espanyol have achieved this feat in just two of their opening nine league fixtures.

Prediction: Both Teams to Score (BTTS): 4/7 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet lands if both teams score, regardless of the final result.

Atletico Madrid vs Deportivo la Coruna, Saturday, 20:00

Atlético de Madrid - Deportivo
Atlético de Madrid - DeportivoFlashscore

Atlético Madrid head into their meeting with Deportivo de la Coruña as heavy favourites, so backing a home victory offers short odds. However, there are some interesting options within the goals market.

Atletico have scored between two and four goals in all of their domestic and European home matches this term. Meanwhile, Saturday night's visitors to the Metropolitano have conceded six goals across their last three away fixtures.

Prediction: 2-4 Home Goals Range: 4/7 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet lands if Atlético Madrid score either two, three, or four goals.

Athletic Bilbao vs Getafe, Sunday, 13:00

Athletic - Getafe
Athletic - GetafeFlashscore

Athletic Bilbao host Getafe on Sunday in a match that seems certain to be a close encounter. Ahead of Wednesday's visit to Levante, only one of the Basque outfit's last six matches has featured three or more goals, a 3-0 victory over Atlético Madrid at the beginning of last month.

Getafe have also helped to produce plenty of low-scoring affairs this term, with 3-0 defeats to Alavés and Barcelona the only occasions in which they've been involved in matches that produced more than two goals.

It's also worth noting eight of the last ten meetings between these two teams have witnessed fewer than three goals.

Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals: 8/13 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet lands if there are fewer than three goals scored in the match.

Real Sociedad vs Levante, Sunday, 17:30

Real Sociedad - Levante
Real Sociedad - LevanteFlashscore

A contest between two attacking sides, there's every reason to believe this weekend's clash at the Anoeta Stadium will provide plenty of entertainment.

Both teams have scored in each of Levante's last four league fixtures (potentially five following Wednesday's visit of Athletic Bilbao), while the same could be said of Real Sociedad's most recent five encounters across all competitions.

There were also goals at both ends in two of the last three contests between Sunday's opponents.

Prediction: Both Teams to Score (BTTS): 8/13 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet lands if both teams score, regardless of the final result.

This bet wins if both teams score at least one goal

Barcelona vs Real Madrid, Sunday, 20:00

Barcelona - Real Madrid
Barcelona - Real MadridFlashscore

The first El Clasico of the season takes place this Sunday evening, with the two highest-scoring teams in LaLiga expected to produce a goals fest at the Camp Nou.

Both teams have scored in seven of Barça's last eight outings across all competitions, while Madrid carry an identical record heading into the weekend. Furthermore, eight of the last ten meetings between these fierce rivals have seen both teams find the net.

Out of their combined total of 18 league matches, a colossal 16 have witnessed three or more goals.

Prediction: Both Teams to Score (BTTS) and Over 2.5 Goals: 4/11 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet lands if there are three or more goals in the match, provided that both teams feature on the scoresheet.
