The only team in the Spanish top-flight that still retains a 100 per cent record, Barcelona have netted a staggering 17 goals and conceded just twice across their first four fixtures.

Luís Castro almost has a full complement to choose from, but is unable to call upon the services of two first-team players.

Alejandro Primo is yet to feature this season, after sustaining a shoulder injury during a routine training session in April. The Spanish stopper subsequently underwent surgery, but still needs further time to recover.

A bigger blow is the absence of striker Karl Etta Eyong, who is sidelined for the next couple of months due to a thigh issue. That means the Cameroonian will miss both of his country’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, as well as a handful of LaLiga contests.

With 25-year-old frontman Iván Romero yet to open his account this season, Levante now look to be lacking firepower in the final third. Castro may be tempted to introduce Yanis Musuayi into his forward line, although the Belgian teenager has only made one substitute appearance since joining from Club Brugge’s youth team.

At least club captain and versatile attacker Roger Brugué is in spectacular form, as evidenced by his two-goal performance against Real Betis.

Similar to his managerial counterpart, Hansi Flick only has a short list of injury concerns.

Frenkie de Jong suffered ligament damage in his right knee during the World Cup, resulting in him missing the start of the season. The Dutch maestro recently returned to the training pitch, but is now back in the treatment room after feeling further pain in the impacted area. Consequently, it’s unclear as to when he’ll be back to full fitness.

Another player with a serious knee complaint is Roony Bardghji, who ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament last month. It’s unlikely the Swedish youngster will play much part in the remainder of the season.

However, there was some slightly better news last week, when it was confirmed that Jesse Bisiwu had only incurred some mild bruising while representing Barça’s second-string outfit in a Copa Catalunya tie. The Belgian wonderkid – a current international and former club teammate of Levante’s Yanis Musuayi – was on the end of a particularly robust tackle, leading to him being stretched down the tunnel.

After being suspended for the midweek meeting with Feyenoord, former Manchester City defender Eric García is back in the mix.

With an embarrassment of riches at his disposal, Flick has some welcome selection headaches. Karim Adeyemi may have to settle for a place on the bench despite scoring on both of his first two starts for the club, while Dani Olmo, Fermín López, Gavi, and Marc Bernal are all scrapping to play alongside Pedri and Rodri in midfield.
