Arriving at the very end of summer 2023 for 45 million euros (£38.3m) from Lyon, Barcola may feel he has completed his chapter in the French capital.
After 39 goals and 37 assists in 152 appearances, the 23-year-old winger could be starting a new chapter in his career at the end of this summer transfer window.
This is the information reported by the daily L'Équipe this Sunday: Barcola, a two-time Champions League winner, has reportedly decided not to continue negotiations with PSG over an extension.
With his contract ending in two years, the French international is therefore likely to leave this summer to avoid being sold at a discount in 2027 or leaving for free in 2028.
Thus, Barcola could end up in the Premier League or the Bundesliga. Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are allegedly interested in his services, as are Bayern Munich. These are great opportunities, but patience will be required.
The transfer market for wingers has been very active so far, and a sudden change of situation - like that of the Ivorian Yan Diomande with Real Madrid - is a good example.
This means that the Barcola situation at PSG could take some time to be resolved. We should have an answer in the coming weeks, however.
