But they face a tough test on Saturday with a trip to Brighton, who have scored more EPL goals than anyone so far this term. Gunning for It

The question punters must ask, bearing in mind that Arsenal beat Brighton three times last season, is what has changed since then? Have the Gunners weakened? Have the Seagulls improved?

The awkward answer is that Arsenal have probably got stronger if anything, with the signings of Ezri Konsa, Christos Tziolis and Bruno Guimaraes adding further class to a squad packed with it already.

Brighton, meanwhile, are doing what they do; signing largely unknown gems like Luka Vuskovic and Malick Yalcouye and continuing to thrive.

The concern for the Seagulls, though, is that their injury list is already mounting up: Jack Hinshelwood, Mats Wieffer, Kauro Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh amongst those unlikely to play any part on Saturday.

It’s always fascinating to try and predict what will happen when an excellent attacking team meets one of the best defences in world football.

Instinct is for goals to flow, but look at those three meetings between these sides last season: 1-0, 2-0 and 2-1 were the final scores, remember.

This 2-4 goals range selection would have landed in two of those, and it feels like a prediction with legs once more. It caters to an Arsenal victory by scorelines like 2-0, 2-1, 3-0 and 3-1, while even allowing for 1-1 and 2-2 draws and even a shock win for Brighton.

Saka’s Happy Hunting Ground

Bukayo Saka just loves playing against Brighton. He’s recorded five goal involvements in six trips to the AMEX, so he’s always in the thick of the action on the south coast.

He should see plenty of the ball on the right flank and will likely get plenty of attention from Brighton’s robust left back Oliver Boscagli – hopefully, for us at least, with fouls as the outcome.

In his last four games, the number of times Saka has been fouled reads 1-6-3-4. Boscagli, meanwhile, has conceded three or more fouls in two of his three Premier League appearances this term.

That’s not to say there’s any guarantee that Boscagli will go tearing into Saka on Saturday, but the numbers certainly seem to stack up that way – keep a close eye on their battle in Brighton.
