VAR intervened to disallow West Ham’s goal, citing that Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya was fouled by Pablo.
Tottenham were also at the centre of a controversial VAR decision after James Maddison appeared to be brought down in the penalty box.
Maddison and Spurs weren’t awarded a spot kick, however, and the North London club had to make do with a point in their 1-1 draw with Leeds on Monday, May 11th.
Speaking to BBC Match of the Day after the game, De Zerbi compared the two incidents and admitted that VAR was right to rule out West Ham’s goal.
"The VAR in West Ham-Arsenal was a foul; it was clear. Today, I did not see honestly,” he said.
“I didn't watch the Maddison penalty, maybe yes, maybe no. I heard my assistant but I don't want to come into a polemic.
"The referee was not calm today. Maybe he felt the pressure of yesterday? He is human and it can happen, but no problem. He was good on the pitch. We prepare the next two games."
