As the deal for Atalanta midfielder Ederson looks increasingly unlikely due to knee complications during his medical, United have wasted no time in launching a fresh offer for another playmaker.
Whilst the Red Devils agreed a deal to sign Chelsea star Andrey Santos, who is expected to officially join the club this week, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that they have now also reached a deal with a Premier League rival.
The 29-year-old’s contract at Villa Park runs until the summer of 2028 after joining the club on a free transfer from Leicester City in 2023. He has made 134 appearances for the club, scoring 10 times.
With Tielemans helping in the middle of the park, Villa have twice qualified for the Champions League, reached the quarter-finals in that competition and lifted the Europa League last season under manager Unai Emery.
Tielemans also helped Belgium reach the quarter-final of the World Cup this summer, scoring two goals along the way in performances that will have caught the eye of United boss Michael Carrick and his scouting team.
