Tottenham are enduring one of the most difficult campaigns in their recent history, overshadowed by a troubling spate of knee injuries.
The latest to join the list is Xavi Simons, who suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture on April 25th as Spurs beat Wolves, further compounding the club’s on-pitch struggles.
This is far from an isolated incident. Wilson Odobert sustained the same injury on February 10th, while Radu Dragusin went down with an ACL rupture in late December 2025.
They are joined by James Maddison, who suffered his injury on August 3rd, 2025, and Cristian Romero, sidelined since April 12th with a knee problem that is expected to keep him out until June.
Meanwhile, Dejan Kulusevski has been dealing with a serious knee injury since May 11th, 2025, with his return not anticipated until May 2026.
The situation paints a stark picture: Tottenham have suffered more knee injuries than home victories in the current Premier League season.
Spurs have managed just two wins at home — the first on the opening day against Burnley (3-0) on August 16th, 2025, and the second not arriving until matchday 15, when they defeated Brentford (2-0) on December 6th. In 2026, the team are yet to record a league win on home soil.
Beyond the knee injuries, the treatment room has remained consistently busy with other physical setbacks. Pape Matar Sarr has been dealing with a shoulder injury, Ben Davies with an ankle problem, Mohammed Kudus with a thigh issue, Destiny Udogie with a muscular injury, and Guglielmo Vicario has undergone hernia surgery.
