English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Xavi Simons has undergone successful surgery after suffering a devastating Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Netherlands international came off midway through the second half of their 1-0 win against the already-relegated side after going down following a challenge from Matt Doherty.

And barely a week after the setback, Simons has gone through the knife and is now poised to begin his road to fitness.

“Surgery complete. We’ll be with you every step of the way during your recovery, Xavi Simons,” a tweet from the club read.

Sadly, the former PSV star will miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup to be co-hosted by Canada, Mexico and the United States.
