Spurs have improved under De Zerbi, there’s little doubt about that.
The Italian oversaw a four-game unbeaten run, before defeat against Chelsea on Tuesday – even then, Tottenham were perhaps a little unfortunate not to return from Stamford Bridge with at least a point.
Everton are the sort of opponent you’d cherry-pick for the final game of the season. The Toffees will finish somewhere between 10th and 14th in the Premier League table, with little in the way of motivation to get them up for their trip to London.
They’ve conceded two or more goals in each of their last six outings and haven’t won since March… how Tottenham will hope they can extend that run on Sunday.

By hook or by crook
It might not be pretty, but we expect Tottenham to do just about enough to secure their Premier League status.
They are bedevilled by injuries that have upset the rhythm of their attacking play, but – as already noted – Everton’s defensive work, in the absence of the injured Jarrad Branthwaite and Idrissa Gueye, has been far below par of late.

But the Toffees are good for a goal – you have to go back to March for the last time they failed to find the net in a game, so it could be a nervy afternoon for Spurs fans nonetheless.
However, we expect them to just have enough about them in a game in which both teams could well score.
Tip: Tottenham double chance & 2-4 goals @ Evens (bet365)
Explanation: Our bet lands if Tottenham win or draw the game and two, three or four goals are scored in total.
Getting stuck in
De Zerbi has taken charge of five Tottenham games now, and in that span they have been shown 20 yellow cards.
That includes at least three in each match, with the Italian head coach himself being cautioned twice – such is his volcanic nature.
There seems to be no reason why Tottenham won’t continue that run with three or more cards on Sunday. Tetchiness, frustration, cynical fouls, dissent, time wasting – they’re all in the armoury of a team desperate to get a big result.
Tip: Tottenham over 2.5 cards @ 4/5 (bet365)
Explanation: Our bet lands if Tottenham are shown three or more cards (can be yellow or red).
A waste of time
With Guglielmo Vicario out since March having undergone hernia surgery, Antonin Kinsky has come into the Tottenham goal and, for the most part, done well.
Vicario is now back in training, but it seems likely that Kinsky will remain in the starting 11 for Sunday’s crunch clash.
He may well deliver for punters who engage in bets linked to game state: that is, potential scenarios that could unfold in the game.
If Tottenham are winning or drawing in the dying minutes of this game, you can almost be sure that Kinsky will engage in time-wasting tactics – delaying a goal kick, for example, so that the clock ticks down and his teammates get an extra breather.
It’s speculative, but it’s the kind of bet that can land in these games of huge significance.
Tip: Antonin Kinsky to be booked @ 5/2 (bet365)
Explanation: Our bet lands if Antonin Kinsky is shown the yellow card.
