Totals - Under 4.5 goals

My first Celtic vs Dundee prediction comes from the total goals market.

The total goals is usually set at 2.5, and bettors will get 4/11 on this game producing more than two goals. There are a few gems in this market, and I feel backing under 4.5 goals gives us a stronger chance of beating the bookies and making a profit on Monday evening.

When following this bet, you’re not concerned by the match-winner or goalscorers. As long as Celtic vs Dundee ends with fewer than five goals scored by both teams combined, you’ll boost your balance, starting a new week in style.

Celtic played four friendlies in July, with under 4.5 goals landing three times. The Hoops drew 1-1 with Shelbourne, lost 4-1 to Sporting, drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough, and 2-2 with Inter Milan

In Celtic’s first league match last season, they beat St Mirren 1-0 here, thanks to a late goal from Luke McCowan, despite 76% possession and 6 shots on target. It’s also worth noting that a bet on under 4.5 goals landed in four of Celtic’s last five opening games.

The Bhoys beat St Mirren 1-0 last August, Kilmarnock 4-0 in 2024, and Aberdeen 2-0 in 2022. Included in that run is a 2-1 defeat at Tynecastle in 2021.

Checking the head-to-head stats at Flashscore adds more confidence.

These teams met four times last season, with under 4.5 goals paying out following each match.

Finally, a league game at Celtic Park last produced more than four goals in October 2025. With that in mind, the odds available on under 4.5 goals on Monday make it a strong addition to your bet builders and accumulators.

Tip: Under 4.5 goals @ 4/11 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You need Celtic v Dundee to end with fewer than five goals scored by both teams combined.

Win to nil - Celtic

My second pick in Glasgow’s east end is another that’ll be popular in bet builders, but it will also do a job as a single. We’re backing Celtic to win to nil.

Takers need two things to happen on Monday evening to ensure a profit. Celtic must win the match, and the defending champions must also keep a clean sheet. If the hosts fail to win or the visitors hit at least one goal, the traders keep your stake.

When checking the H2H, I noticed that the last three meetings here ended 1-0, 6-0, and 2-0 in Celtic’s favour. The Dee last found the net at this venue in February 2024, when losing 7-1. The consolation goal came on 84 minutes with Celtic 7-0 up.

Going back further, Dundee have scored just one goal here in their last five attempts. You’ll remember from the previous tip that Martin O’Neill’s team also have a strong record of keeping clean sheets on matchday one.

Dundee last opened a Premiership season with victory a decade ago, beating Ross County in August 2016. In the seasons since, Dundee have been in the Championship three times, lost three and drawn three in the top flight.

Celtic win to nil @ 11/10 (bet365)

Bet explanation: Your bet wins if Celtic beat Dundee and the visitors fail to score.

Corners - Under 11

My third and final Celtic vs Dundee prediction comes from the totals market, tipping this match to produce fewer than 11 corners.

Celtic played four Premiership matches in May, with fewer than 11 corners in the games against Motherwell and Rangers. In their last competitive match, against Dunfermline in the Scottish Cup final, there were just five corners.

Celtic’s approach on Monday will be to dominate the ball; they had 70% possession when Dundee were last in town. The locals will remain patient, move their opponents around the pitch, and aim to seize on any mistakes. Keeping the ball in play and building passes will help tire the Dundee defence.

Manager Steven Pressley knows winning here is a long shot. He’ll focus on making his team hard to break down by being competitive in the middle of the park, and organised defensively. If they do break, it’ll be quick with the aim of testing the Celtic number one.

Dundee failed to register a corner when last here on league business, and managed just five in their previous three visits. I don’t expect the Dark Blues to spend much time in and around the Celtic box, forcing shots and earning corners.

Tip: Under 11 corners @ 11/10 (bet365)

Bet explanation: Celtic vs Dundee must finish with fewer than 11 corners awarded to both teams combined.
