Total goals - Over 2.5
I expect entertainment in Wednesday evening's live match, so I'm opening with a play on Hearts v Rangers to produce more than two goals.
When betting on the total goals market, you're covered for goals scored by both teams. A 2-1 home win pays the same as a 2-2 draw or a stunning 3-0 win for the visitors. This bet lets you sit back, get excited by every attack, and cheer each time the ball hits the net.
Checking the head-to-head stats available now on the Flashscore app, I noticed that over 2.5 goals landed in each of the last three meetings between these teams. That run includes a pair of 2-1 home wins for Hearts, separated by a 4-2 Gers win at Ibrox.
In the last 10 games, over 2.5 goals has hit 60% of the time. In the previous five meetings at Tynecastle, over 2.5 has an eye-catching 80% success rate.
Included in the last five Premiership meetings at Tynecastle are those 2-1 wins for Hearts, as well as a 3-1 away win, and a memorable six-goal draw in May 2024.
What about the recent form of both clubs?
Hearts, who start third in the table, have played three domestic games this month. They thrashed St Mirren 5-0 here, lost 7-1 at Celtic Park, and won 2-0 at Motherwell on Sunday.
Rangers have also played three league games in October, beating Kilmarnock 3-1 at Ibrox, drawing 2-2 at Dens Park, and blasting St Johnstone 4-0 on Saturday.
Both teams score plenty of goals; the last five meetings have produced 18, and the atmosphere will be electric at Tynecastle as McInnes returns.
Back Hearts v Rangers to produce three or more goals. You can follow as a single or add to your midweek multiples.
Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 8/13 (bet365)
Bet explanation: The winning team isn't important here. You need Hearts vs Rangers to produce more than two goals from both teams combined.
Double chance - Rangers or draw
My second prediction from the Scottish capital is Rangers or draw on the double chance market.
You can aim higher and back the visitors to win at odds of 11/10, and I'm sure that will be popular with bettors. I prefer the safety net offered by the double chance market available on the bet365 app and site.
If Rangers can avoid defeat in Edinburgh and take at least a point back to Ibrox, you'll beat the bookies.
McInnes and his Rangers side arrive in fine form, with five wins and one draw from their previous six. The 16 points collected from 18 available is the strongest return in the league.
Sticking with the last six league games, Hearts have three wins, one draw, and two defeats, collecting 10 points.
H2H stats show that a bet on Rangers or a draw has an 80% success rate in their previous 10 visits to Tynecastle.
This season, Rangers have already drawn 2-2 at Dundee, won 1-0 at Parkhead, 2-1 at Falkirk, 1-0 at Pittodrie, and ended 1-1 at Tannadice.
Taking something from Tynecastle will be no mean feat, and McInnes knows it, but Rangers are full of confidence. Everyone in the away dressing room appreciates the importance of collecting points on the road if they are to challenge for the title.
Tip: Rangers or draw @ 4/11 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You need this match to end in a draw or a Rangers away win. Followers have a two-in-three chance of making a profit on Wednesday's headliner.
Score or assist - Naderi
I'll wrap up my Hearts v Rangers preview with a bet on Czech Republic striker Ryan Naderi to score or assist in Edinburgh.
Naderi arrived from German lower-league team Hansa Rostock in the winter transfer window. The 6'4" attacker took his time to settle in Glasgow, but has hit the ground running this season.
After long-term injuries to fellow strikers Lawrence Shankland and Youssef Chermiti, Naderi has enjoyed a run in the team, and the 23-year-old has seized the chance to impress with both hands.
Naderi got an assist and a goal in Saturday's 4-0 win over St Johnstone. He scored a brace in the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock, and his goal at Parkhead won the Old Firm derby late last month.
Ryan assisted striking partner Kevin Kelsy in a 3-0 League Cup win over Celtic, set up Bojan Miovski's late winner against St Mirren, and netted in a 1-0 victory over Motherwell.
Tip: Naderi to score or assist @ 1/1 (bet365)
Bet explanation: You need Naderi to score or get an assist in Wednesday evening's Hearts v Rangers Premiership match at Tynecastle.
