The fight for the 2025/2026 Scudetto promises to be an exciting one, with the main bookmakers indicating Napoli and Inter as favourites for the title, followed by Juventus, Milan and Roma. In this article, we analyse the historic successes of the Serie A's biggest clubs, and their prospects ahead of the new season.

Responsible Play, 18+

There's less than one month to go before the 2025/26 Serie A season commences; the summer friendlies have already begun and the bookmakers are regularly updating the antepost odds. The league's participants are continuing their preparations, recruiting new personnel, testing out formations, and in some cases making managerial changes. So, who has what it takes to win the Scudetto?

Unsurprisingly, the title favourites are Napoli, reigning Italian champions. The Azzurri are aiming for the fifth Scudetto in their history next season, but they will have to contend with fierce competition. Inter, Juventus, Milan and Roma are all expected to mount a serious title challenge. Dark horses Atalanta are also in with a shout, but a series of player departures during the summer may undermine their efforts this term.

Let's take a detailed look at the chances of the bookmakers five top favourites. We will analyse their previous domestic achievements, recent form, and summer transfer business to understand who has the best chance of adorning the famous Tricolour come the conclusion of the 2025/26 campaign.

Napoli Scudetto odds: analysis, predictions and anteposts

Following a prolonged battle with Inter Milan, Napoli secured their fourth Serie A title thanks to a 2-0 victory over Cagliari on a dramatic final day. This ensured Antonio Conte's men finished one point ahead of the Nerazzurri, who would suffer further disappointment in June's Champions League final.

During the summer, the club maintained the main framework of the squad, whilst making quality signings such as Kevin De Bruyne and young Lorenzo Lucca, who arrived on loan from Serie A rivals Udinese. The pre-season showed a healthy, compact team with clear ideas. Their physical condition seems good and newcomers have already successfully integrated into Conte's talented squad.

Therefore, you can understand why the bookmakers have positioned Napoli as heavy favourites to retain their title.  However, the race for the Scudetto remains open: Inter, Juventus, Milan and Roma have invested heavily in targeted reinforcements in an attempt to close the gap between themselves and the Azzurri.

Although they ended the 2024/2025 Serie A season as runners-up, Inter found the net more often than any other team. The Nerazzurri scored 79 goals in their 38 league fixtures, helping them to register a staggering 119 goals across all competitions - a new club record.

In the summer, Inter made several important additions to their squad. Brazilian striker Luis Henrique and Croatian midfielder Petar Sučić, who arrived from Marseille and Dinamo Zagreb respectively, are arguably the two most high-profile recruits. Both delivered impressive performances at the Club World Cup, showcasing what they can bring to Cristian Chivu's side.

As is typically the case, the bookmakers consider Inter one of the main candidates to win the title. Although slightly behind Napoli in the odds market, there's little to choose between these two adversaries.

The 2024/25 campaign saw Juventus finish fourth in Serie A, amassing 70 points after recording 18 wins, 16 draws and four defeats. The Bianconeri conceded just 35 goals in the league, but this strong defensive performance was offset by their profligacy in the final third. Having only netted on one more occasion than ninth-placed Bologna throughout last season, the club understandably felt compelled to shop for attacking recruits.

Juventus acted quickly in the summer transfer window to add Canadian centre-forward Jonathan David to their ranks, whilst also making Francisco Conceição a permanent member of the squad following a successful season-long loan spell from Porto. Although the club has had to manage a few delicate disciplinary issues and embrace a new playing style under the stewardship of recently appointed Head Coach Igor Tudor, there has been plenty of positive noise during the pre-season period.

Despite being a team in transition, the bookmakers place the 'Old Lady' in the middle of this ambitious pack, installing them as third favourites to land the Scudetto this term. The most successful club in Italy, Juventus are currently targeting an eye-watering 37th league crown.

Milan winning Serie A 2026 odds: analysis, state of the art

Milan's 2024/25 season ended with a disappointing eighth-place finish in Serie A, although they did beat Juventus to clinch the Italian Super Cup against Juventus and made it all the way to the Coppa Italia final. The club suffered too many fluctuations in performance; after making a good start, there was a dip in form during the middle of the championship before a less-than-inspiring final few months, which ultimately impacted their title hopes.

During the 2025 summer transfer market, AC Milan acquired midfield duo Luka Modrić and Samuele Ricci, enhancing their quality and experience in midfield. The arrival of Ecuadorian full-back Pervis Estupiñán from Premier League outfit Brighton bolsters the Rossoneri defence.

Milan are considered to have an outside chance of lifting the Scudetto this term, and as such are placed as a second-tier contender. The bookies' odds suggest they're significantly behind Napoli, Inter, and Juventus, despite boasting superstar talents such as Portuguese international Rafael Leão, versatile attacker Christian Pulisic, and the aforementioned Luka Modrić.

The 2024/25 season ended with Roma finishing fifth in Serie A, securing their safe passage to the Europa League group phase. The team showed signs of growth following last Autumn's turmoil, culminating with Ivan Jurić's dismissal and the return of Claudio Ranieri.

The club started the 2025/26 summer market by appointing Gian Piero Gasperini as Head Coach. There's also been plenty of recruitment in the playing department, with young striker Evan Ferguson and central midfielder Neil El Aynaoui arriving from Brighton and Lens respectively, while Spanish defender Mario Hermoso returns to Rome following his loan spell with Bayer Leverkusen.

Roma are priced at odds of 11/1 to win the title, reflecting a modest level of confidence in Gasperini's vision. Whilst the bookmakers respect the potential of Giallorossi's newly-assembled squad, it's clear they still believe there is some work to do to catch up with the leading pack.
