Germany, who top the group after their dominant display against Curaçao, are preparing to take on the Ivory Coast. Julian Nagelsmann’s men are among the favourites to win the tournament, and this match against the Ivorians will be a good test for them against an opponent who, on paper, is stronger than Curaçao (with all due respect to that fine team).
The Elephants made a great start by edging Ecuador by the narrowest of margins. They are currently second, level on points with the Mannschaft. If they win on Saturday, they will qualify for the round of 16 of this World Cup.

Germany not to lose this match
Germany are one of the teams that could potentially win this 2026 World Cup. Under Julian Nagelsmann, they are on a run of ten consecutive victories. They have scored 13 goals in their last three matches, conceding only two. Solid at the back and clinical in front of goal, this German side is formidable.
Ivory Coast are not to be underestimated either. The Elephants have won their last four matches, including one against France (2-1). Against Ecuador, they were solid, though not particularly efficient in front of goal. They had 16 shots, with only four on target. Amad Diallo finally found the net in the 90th minute.
The Mannschaft made a big impression in their opening match. Ruthlessly efficient, the Germans look a cut above the other three teams in their group. While an upset can never be ruled out, our bet is that Germany will not lose this match. Both a win and a draw will see this bet come in.

As mentioned above, Germany have scored 13 goals in their last three matches, an average of 4.3 goals per game. Looking at a wider sample, the Germans have scored 35 goals in their last ten matches, an impressive average of 3.5 goals per game. It’s clear that the Mannschaft are firing on all cylinders in attack.
Ivory Coast score less, but still have nothing to be ashamed of. The Elephants have found the net 21 times in their last ten matches, averaging 2.1 goals per game. Based on these stats, we can expect a match with plenty of chances and quite a few goals.
The last meeting between these two sides ended in a draw (2-2), and although that was back in 2009, everything points to there being at least two goals in this match. It might seem like a cautious bet, but there have already been plenty of surprises in this tournament (Spain, Portugal). It’s better to play it safe.

Against the Ivory Coast, the striker should start again. With likely support from Leroy Sané, Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz behind him, Havertz will have some good balls to work with. So we’re backing him to be decisive in this match by scoring.
