22:40 BST - Pedro Porro was the man whose brilliance sealed the victory with a slick goal and he was rewarded with the player of the match award for his contribution.
"It's a dream come true. Truly it was my biggest dream. Very, very happy for the team," he told ITV Sport.
"From the start to the end we played a great game. We did everything possible today to be able to go through.
"We knew we were facing a very, very tough team and we did everything so well. This is a team effort, it's not about me. I just want to say congratulations to everybody for producing such a great performance."

22:00 BST - FULL-TIME! There's the whistle and Spain have booked their place in the World Cup final! They were the better team for all of it, which was a surprise given how dominant France had been throughout the rest of the tournament. All the talk was whether any team could stop the French, and now someone has, which means three teams remain with a chance of winning this World Cup: Spain, England and Argentina. Who will join the Spanish in the big dance?

21:44 BST - BIG CHANCE! France break and Unai Simón flies out to end the threat way outside the area. However, he misjudges the flight and Desire Doue has the ball at his feet, but the clambering defence does well to cut off a pretty average attempt at goal. He really should have made more of that.
21:39 BST - CHANCE! Wow, that could have been this game done and dusted. Ferran Torres leaps high in the box to meet a cross but puts his header a matter of inches to the wrong side of the post.
21:29 BST - CLOSE! Kylian Mbappe fires a shot from long range and it whistles past the post after taking a deflection from Marc Cucurella.

21:20 BST - GOAL! Spain have doubled their lead through Pedro Porro! He plays the ball to Dani Olmo and immediately sets off to take a return pass. It duly comes, and Porro is just left with the goalkeeper to beat - which he manages with a slick finish. France have it all to do now.

20:46 BST - There will be six minutes of added time in Arlington, where we still await a France shot on target. They have not been the same side that swept all before them up to this point in the tournament.

Mike Maignan gifts Spain an opportunity with a wayward clearance, and the Spaniards respond with a slick one-touch move involving Dani Olmo and Lamine Yamal. 20:23 BST - This is the first time in the World Cup that France have found themselves behind in a game, while Spain have avoided defeat in their last five World Cup matches when scoring first - the last time being a 1-2 loss to Japan on 1 December 2022.

20:20 BST - SPAIN PENALTY! The ball is up in the air in the France area and Lucas Digne swivels to clear it, but he catches Lamine Yamal with his kick. The referee does not hesitate to award it.
20:16 BST - CHANCE! Ousmane Dembélé puts in a superb crossfield pass that falls on a sixpence for Kylian Mbappe. France flood the Spain area led by their striker but eventually the defence shuts down the threat. Ultimately Spain were equal to it, but that's a reminder of how quickly this French team can counter-attack from deep.

19:47 BST - Despite his birthday being on Monday and his brother going viral on social media, Lamine Yamal is completely focused on Spain's match against France today, one that he describes as the biggest game of his life.
"It's amazing that football has given me the chance to be recognised in places like Chattanooga, for example," he said.
"I could never have imagined walking through a town in the United States and being recognised. I really value where I come from."

19:35 BST - Just under half an hour to go!
19:27 BST - Ahead of tomorrow's semi-final between England and Argentina, Harry Kane has played down any alleged tension between Thomas Tuchel and Jude Bellingham.
Following England's quarter-final victory over Norway, Tuchel called the performance "sloppy" and said that his team had been "lucky".
Bellingham responded by saying: “Maybe he doesn't know what it takes to play in those conditions against Erling Haaland, (Antonio) Nusa, (Alexander) Sorloth - that's not an easy team to play against."
The comments sparked a whole host of reports suggesting there was a divide between the pair and that the England camp may be descending into chaos before the semi-finals.

22:25 BST - Kylian Mbappe heads into France's World Cup semi-final against Spain in scary form, with eight goals putting him level with Lionel Messi as the tournament's top scorer, despite enduring a frustrating season at Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old has scored 42 goals in 44 games for Los Blancos across the season, but the Spanish giants ended another season without a major trophy, meaning they've not won a major trophy since Mbappe signed in 2024.

20:05 BST - Spain face France in a massive World Cup semi-final tomorrow, with Luis de la Fuente's side chasing a 37th straight match without defeat against Didier Deschamps' star-studded attack.
La Roja have won the last two meetings between the sides, while Les Bleus are aiming for a fourth World Cup final under Deschamps.

19:55 BST - Dutch referee Rob Dieperink has died aged 38. Dieperink, who officiated almost 100 Eredivisie matches and worked at the Euros in 2024, had been withdrawn from the 2026 World Cup after allegations that were later dropped by police due to a lack of evidence.

15:50 BST - Slaven Bilic has returned for a second spell as Croatia head coach after Zlatko Dalic stepped down following the country's World Cup exit. Bilic previously led the national team from 2006 to 2012 and has managed Premier League clubs West Ham, West Brom and Watford.

15:25 BST - France and Spain meet in a blockbuster World Cup semi-final in Texas tomorrow night, with French firepower going up against Spanish possession-based play in what many are calling a 'final before the final'.
"Obviously, we are two great teams, among the best in the world. We'll see what happens, but we have no fear," said Spain and Barcelona star Lamine Yamal ahead of the clash.
