Derek McInnes takes his new-look Rangers team to Poland on Thursday for a UEFA Europa League 3rd qualifying round 1st leg.

Jagiellonia Bialystok provides the opposition, with the Polish Ekstraklasa's third-team hoping to cause an upset. Rangers have suffered slip-ups in Europe before. Could Jaga deal a massive blow to the Scots' season in early August?

Jagiellonia v Rangers betting tips

Over 2.5 goals @ 19/20 (bet365)

Over 8 corners @ 4/7 (bet365)

Rangers win @ 6/5 (bet365)

Totals - Over 2.5 goals

I open with a bet on Jagiellonia vs Rangers to end with more than two goals scored by both teams combined.

Jagiellonia posted third in the Polish top-flight last term, but crossed the finish line as the division's second-highest scorers behind champions Lech Poznan. In 34 league matches, the locals bagged 56 goals and conceded 41.

The Polish league is already two games old, one ahead of the Scottish Premiership. Jagiellonia have two wins, scoring three goals and conceding one. They beat Motor Lublin 2-1 on Friday evening, while Rangers were fighting out a 1-1 draw at Tannadice.

Adrian Siemieniec knows his best chance of going through comes from making home advantage count.  Jaga must avoid having to win at Ibrox next week. Opposite number, McInnes, still reeling from two points dropped at the weekend, understands a win would see Gers place one foot in the next round.

Here, we have two attack-minded teams who know the value of a win on Thursday. The locals should be a tad fitter and sharper, but everyone in the away dressing room knows victory is a must following that draw in Dundee

You can back over 2.5 goals, and then sit back, enjoy the show, and cheer every attack.

Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 19/20 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You need Jagiellonia vs Rangers to finish with more than two goals scored by both teams combined.

Totals - Over 8 corners

We're sticking with the totals market, this time betting on the number of corners awarded in Thursday evening's showdown.

Jagiellonia are compact in their style, working hard to win the ball and get it out to their wide players who like to fire crosses into the box. They had 54% of the possession last time out, creating 13 shots.

Rangers, like their rivals, move quickly down the flanks, with the likes of Tuur Rommens and Dujon Sterling overlapping wingers, including Findlay Curtis and Djeidi Gassama. At Tannadice on Friday, Rangers also had 54% possession and 21 shots.

With both clubs moving the ball quickly and turning defence into attack, I'm confident we'll see many chances created and more than eight corners awarded. Dundee United vs Rangers produced 15 corners, while Motor Lublin vs Jagiellonia gave up 6 corners.

When betting on the number of corners, you're not concerned by which team wins, who scores, or even the number of goals. All you need is for this 1st leg clash to have at least nine corner kicks.

Tip: Over 8 corners @ 4/7 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If this match has nine or more corners, your bet wins, and you'll make a profit.

Winner - Rangers

My third and final prediction comes from the match-winner market, taking Rangers to out-score Jagiellonia on their patch.

The Rangers staff, players, and supporters appreciate that their opening league match was well off the standard expected this season. Doing better here is essential. The fans' patience for the new regime will wear thin very quickly.

Losing to an opponent that finished third in the Polish league isn't worth thinking about. McInnes and his men already find themselves under pressure, but I'm confident they'll get the job done in style.

With 90 minutes under their belts, and another week spent on the training pitch, there will be noticeable improvements across the board.

The likes of Emmanuel Fernandez will be more settled in defence. Thelo Aasgard will build on his goal at the weekend. Forward players, Lawrence Shankland, Ryan Naderi and Youssef Chermiti, know they're tasked with shooting Gers into an aggregate lead.

Tip: Rangers win @ 6/5 (bet365)

Bet explanation: If Rangers beat Jagiellonia, you'll beat the bookies and boost your betting balance.
