The tournament kicks off on June 11th in Mexico City and culminates with the final on July 19th at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. For the first time, the World Cup will be hosted by three countries - the USA, Canada, and Mexico. A record 48 teams will participate, meeting in 104 matches.

Tournament schedule and format
The group stage is played from June 11th to June 28th, followed by the round of 32 (June 28th – July 3rd), round of 16 (July 4th–7th), quarterfinals (July 9th–12th), semifinals (July 14th–15th), third place match (July 18th), and the final on Sunday, July 19th.
Teams are drawn into 12 groups of four. The top two from each group plus the eight best third-placed teams advance. The current schedule, group tables, and playoff bracket can be found here.

All 104 World Cup matches will be split between BBC and ITV for viewers in the UK, with games being broadcast across BBC One and iPlayer or ITV1 and ITVX.
