The two highest-scoring Bundesliga teams after five rounds clash in Saturday’s primetime slot, with Bayern Munich looking to regain their domestic stride against an RB Leipzig side yet to pick up a single point on their travels.

Match News and Current Form

After conceding the fastest goal in Bundesliga history in a 2-2 draw with Augsburg last week, Bayern Munich have now endured their worst five-game start to a Bundesliga season in four years (W3, D2). Four points dropped is already as many as the Rekordmeister had surrendered in the entire first half of the 2025/26 season, and their confidence took a further blow with a 3-3 draw against UEFA Champions League debutants Viking in midweek. Despite their early wobbles, Bayern entered this round as the Bundesliga’s deadliest attacking team with 16 goals scored, 12 of which came in just two home games, which is more than all but one Bundesliga side on record at this stage.

Unlike their hosts, Leipzig picked up three points in their midweek European outing, beating PSV 1-0 at home. The Red Bulls’ next task is to improve on the road, as they’ve lost each of their last three competitive trips while conceding nine times in total. With 14 of their 15 league goals arriving at home, a trip to face the champions is a huge task, yet they have at least found the net in six of their last seven league visits to the Allianz Arena. Led by former Bayern defender Martín Demichelis, he looks to become only the third manager to ever win his first Bundesliga away game at this venue.

Head-to-Head History

Bayern have won each of the last three H2Hs, one of which was the heaviest Bundesliga defeat Leipzig have ever suffered in a 6-0 thumping here back in August 2025.

Hot Stats and Streaks

Bayern have scored 5+ goals in their last three home league games, a club record.

Eight of Bayern’s 12 home league goals this term came after half-time.

The side scoring first has won each of Leipzig’s five league matches this term (RBL: W3, L2).

None of Leipzig’s league games this season were level at half-time.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Harry Kane is set to make his 100th Bundesliga appearance for Bayern Munich here, and his 101 goals are already a record for any player across his first century of appearances, seven of which came against Leipzig. Christopher Nkunku brought up a half-century of Bundesliga goals with a hat-trick last weekend, which was also the first perfect hat-trick by any Leipzig player in the competition!

Jamal Musiala missed out on Bayern’s last two games through injury. Leipzig’s Marc Guiu last featured over a month ago due to injury.

Betting Analysis

Given the imperious home scoring form of Bayern and Leipzig’s torrid away record, Bayern to win by a -1 handicap could be worth exploring.
