It might be premature to call this a ‘relegation six-pointer’, but Coventry and Fulham meet with both in the lower reaches of the Premier League and desperate to build momentum.

Match News and Current Form

Coventry’s Premier League return has been feast or famine, with wins over Nottingham Forest and Newcastle followed by Monday’s 3-1 defeat at Tottenham (W2, L5). The Sky Blues can at least take encouragement from scoring in each of their last three games after starting the season with four consecutive blanks. Beating Newcastle 4-1 in their last home outing should also give Frank Lampard’s side a lift, as recapturing the form that saw them win 17 of their 23 Championship games here last term (D4, L2) will be vital to their chances of survival.

Fulham secured their first league win of the campaign (D2, L4) by beating Hull 1-0 last weekend, easing some of the pressure on head coach Álvaro Arbeloa. The Cottagers become the first side since Bournemouth in 2024 to face all three promoted sides in consecutive Premier League games here, and are hoping for back-to-back league wins for the first time since March. A victory here would be a huge boost as they haven’t won an away league game since February (D4, L4), alternating between draws and losses in that sequence, while they’ve scored just once on the road in the league this term (D1, L2).

Head-to-Head History

This is a first-ever Premier League H2H, although Coventry won both meetings in the 2021/22 Championship season by at least two goals.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Jack Rudoni has scored Coventry’s opener in both of their last two games, while two of his three strikes in all competitions this term arrived before the tenth minute. Alex Iwobi netted Fulham’s winner against Hull - he could equal Mohamed Salah’s tally of 328 Premier League appearances here, behind only Kolo Touré (353) among Africans.

Coventry look to have no new injury concerns, while Fulham are without Ryan Sessegnon due to suspension and Hugo Larsson missed the Hull fixture with a groin problem.

Betting Analysis

As games involving these two this season have frequently started slowly before seeing goals arrive after the break, it could be worth backing the second half to have the most goals.
