Marseille will be looking to continue their upturn in form in Ligue 1 when they host bottom-of-the-table Le Havre, the only side in the division without a win this season.

Match News and Current Form

Despite Marseille having lost four of their first seven matches in Ligue 1 this term - the most defeats that they have suffered at this stage of a French top-flight campaign since 1985/86 - the two most recent of those games have both been wins, including last Sunday’s resounding 5-2 victory over Angers. Bruno Génésio’s men have lost their last three home encounters across all competitions though, meaning that they could suffer four such defeats consecutively for the first time since April 2012, and come into this game after losing 1-0 at Sturm Graz in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday.

The omens aren't good for Le Havre, who remain on just two points this season (L5) following a 3-1 loss to Auxerre last weekend. Since the start of 2022/23, three of the other four sides who hadn't even registered three points in their first seven games of a Ligue 1 campaign were ultimately relegated that season. Didier Digard’s men will be hoping rather than expecting to get a victory on Sunday, with morale undoubtedly pretty low having won just once on the road in 15 games (D6, L8) and only keeping one away league clean sheet since the start of 2026, the joint-lowest figure among teams in France’s top flight throughout that period.

Head-to-Head History

Marseille have won each of the last 11 league H2Hs, with Le Havre’s last such win against them coming in 1988 - the longest ongoing wait for a current Ligue 1 team to beat OM in the top flight.

Marseille seemingly have no fresh absentees, while Le Havre’s Ayumu Seko returns from suspension.

Betting Analysis

Marseille may not have made a great start to the season, but backing the hosts to score first and win makes a lot of sense here.
