Although few would have expected them to be outclassed by Mohamed Ouahbi’s eye-catching Moroccan outfit, Brazil’s underwhelming performance in New Jersey was hardly a surprise. The Seleção only managed to rack up 28 points from their 18 qualifiers, leaving them in fifth position in the ten-team CONMEBOL section.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men were repeatedly carved open during a sobering first half for the five-time world champions, with one of those occasions leading to Ismael Saibari’s well-taken opener. A trademark finish from Real Madrid star Vinícius Júnior ensured the scoreline was level heading into the interval, before the two sides cancelled each other out in a low-key second half.

That 1-1 draw makes Saturday’s encounter a must-win for Brazil, who face a potentially tricky tie against Scotland in their final group stage fixture.
Haiti were unable to take anything from last weekend’s encounter with the Scots, but were perhaps unlucky to lose the game.
Les Grenadiers fired no fewer than 22 attempts towards Angus Gunn’s goal, more than any other nation managed across Group C’s matchday one fixtures. Only a deflected John McGinn strike prevented the Haitians from securing their first-ever point at a World Cup, while a decent portion of the match was played in Scotland’s half.
Saturday’s contest in Pennsylvania will be televised exclusively live on ITV and STV, with coverage commencing 15 minutes before a 1.30 (BST) kick-off.

Brazil team news
Reports suggest that Brazilian icon Neymar won’t be available until the knockout stages, after sustaining a calf injury while playing for Santos last month. It initially seemed as if the former Barcelona star – who is his country’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals in 128 appearances – might not be included in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, but his first appearance in a fourth World Cup finals awaits.
Alisson Becker appears to have recovered from the hamstring issue that plagued him throughout last term, after starting each of Brazil’s last three fixtures. The 33-year-old goalkeeper conceded once in each of his first-half outings against Panama and Egypt, before being beaten by Ismael Saibari on Saturday night.
There’s plenty of Premier League interest in Brazil’s ranks, with Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha, Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimarães, Arsenal’s Gabriel Magalhães, Brentford striker Igor Thiago, and versatile Bournemouth attacker Rayan all travelling to North America. Despite netting 20 times during a sterling season for Chelsea, João Pedro missed the cut.
Ancelotti made two substitutions at half-time against Morocco, replacing yellow-carded duo Casemiro and Roger Ibañez with Danilo and Fabinho. The former Liverpool ace plugged the midfield gaps that Morocco exploited in the opening 45 minutes, while Danilo provided a more assured presence down the right-hand flank. Cunha was introduced in the second half for the ineffectual Lucas Paquetá.
Therefore, don’t be surprised if these three players feature in the Italian tactician’s starting line-up.

Haiti team news
A couple of days before Haiti’s World Cup campaign commenced, Leverton Pierre was cruelly ruled out of action due to a groin problem. The gap created by Pierre’s absence was subsequently filled by imposing defender Garven Metusala, who plays his club football in the States with USL Championship outfit Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
Often used as an impact substitute by Sunderland boss Régis Le Bris, French-born forward Wilson Isidor adds pace and dynamism to the Haitian attack. Isidor’s strike partner against Scotland was Frantzdy Pierrot, but Sébastien Migné could introduce Duckens Nazon to his forward line.
After spells in France, India, the UK, and Turkey amongst others, Nazon helped Esteghlal clinch the Iranian top-flight title last season.

Where to watch on TV or live stream?
ITV/STV have secured broadcasting rights for 54 of the 108 World Cup fixtures being contested this summer, with the BBC screening the other half. Therefore, every game – including Brazil v Haiti – is easily accessible to all UK residents on free-to-air television.
A commentary team of Sam Matterface and Lee Dixon will be on hand at Lincoln Financial Field, while former Chelsea duo Karen Carney and Emma Hayes provide expert analysis from the studio.
The match will also be streamed live on the ITVX and STV Player platforms, enabling online viewers to follow the action via any compatible electronic device.
Head-to-Head record
Having won all three of their previous contests against Haiti by an aggregate scoreline of 17-1, Brazil
will be expecting to register maximum points on Saturday morning.
The most recent clash between these two teams took place at the 2016 Copa América, when a hat-trick from ex-Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho helped the Brazilians earn a 7-1 triumph. However, that emphatic victory wasn’t enough to secure safe passage through to the knockout stages, as the five-time world champions crashed out at the group stage of South America’s flagship competition for the first time since 1987.
No group stage fixture in this year’s World Cup facilitates a larger theoretical gap in quality, as Brazil (6th) are positioned 78 places higher than Haiti (84th) in the current FIFA World Rankings.
Brazil have won eight of their nine World Cup meetings with CONCACAF opposition, a record that stretches back over 75 years. It’s perhaps ironic that the only blip in this sequence arrived on home soil, thanks to Mexico earning a goalless draw at the Estádio Castelão in 2014.
