Brazil started the 2026 World Cup by surprising their fans. Carlo Ancelotti’s side failed to overcome Morocco, struggled greatly in the first half and left the pitch with a draw. For the second match, expectations are for a more comfortable win to reignite excitement for a sixth title.
For Haiti, on the other hand, you could say the result was better than expected. The Central American side lost to Scotland 1-0, but before the match, the expectation was for a heavy defeat. Their performance on the pitch was also positive, and the outlook for the match against Brazil may have changed.

Brazil and Haiti have met three times in history, with three wins for the five-time World Cup winners. In those matches, Brazil scored 22 goals and conceded just two. The favourites are clear, and a rout would not be a surprise.

Brazil to win
Without a World Cup title since 2002, the Brazilian national team hired Carlo Ancelotti and hoped to start the tournament with a win, but struggled against Morocco and only managed a draw. For the match against Haiti, Brazil are expected to claim their first victory, with it plausible that only one team will score.
Haiti opened with a defeat (1-0) to Scotland, where they managed 15 attempts, but only two were on target. Of those two, just one was considered a clear chance. Their attacking performance was better than expected against the Scots, but the players’ limitations meant they couldn’t find the net.
Against Brazil, whose defence is stronger than Scotland’s, the scenario should repeat itself. A win for the opposition without conceding. Marquinhos and Gabriel Magalhães, both finalists in the last Champions League final, form Brazil’s centre-back pairing, who are expected to keep a clean sheet this Friday (19th).
Tip: Brazil to win and Both teams not to score – 4/6 @ bet365
Bet explanation: This bet will win if Brazil beat Haiti without conceding a goal. Only Brazil can score for this prediction to pay out.
Raphinha looking to bounce back
Barcelona star Raphinha has earned Ancelotti’s trust and has been regularly picked to start, but hasn’t been delivering as expected. The forward hasn’t managed to replicate last season’s performances, but is likely to get another chance and will be looking to turn things around against Haiti.
If Raphinha needs a good game to regain his confidence for Brazil, Haiti could be the ideal opponent. Against Morocco, the number 11 played the full 90 minutes and had two shots on target. In the second match, where Brazil are expected to dominate possession and attacking play, it’s a positive prediction that Raphinha will have more shots on goal.
Raphinha last scored in May, for Barca, in the 3-1 win over Betis. After a five-game goal drought, the number 11 will be doing everything he can to score for Brazil. Expect Raphinha to have plenty of shots on goal against Haiti.
Tip: Raphinha for 2+ shots on target – 11/10 @ bet365
Bet explanation: This bet will win if Raphinha has two or more attempts in the match. The final score does not matter for this prediction.
At least 3 goals
Brazil and Haiti have already met three times in history, with Brazil scoring 25 goals and only conceding two. The record is overwhelming in Brazil’s favour, and anything less than a rout this Friday will leave fans disappointed and questioning Ancelotti’s work.
The third and final prediction for the match is that at least three goals will be scored. So far, the biggest scoreline at the World Cup was Germany against Curaçao (7-1). Haiti’s performance in their first match doesn’t suggest a scoreline like that will be repeated, but a 3-0 or 4-0 score is certainly possible.
The national team is still struggling to find its ideal starting eleven. Vini Jr, Raphinha and Matheus Cunha are expected to start, but many others are waiting for their chance on the bench. In the thrashing of Panama (6-2), Ancelotti changed the team at half-time, and the scoreline ballooned (4 goals in 27 minutes).
Tip: Over 2.5 goals – 1/3 @ bet365
Bet explanation: This bet will win if the match ends with at least three goals scored. 3-0, 2-1, and 2-2 are all valid results for this prediction.
