Littler was booed and whistled during both of his matches in Amsterdam, against Danny Noppert and Nathan Aspinall. The 19-year-old said he would no longer travel to the Netherlands if the treatment continued.
“If the Dutch stay like this, then I’m not going to do any Euro Tours over there,” he said on Saturday. “There’s just no point in me travelling, wasting my time while I’m getting booed. I just want to play my darts, obviously sign autographs.
“The past two nights, I’ve done nothing; I’ve just walked off stage without thanking anybody. There’s no point thanking everyone when they are booing me.”
Having taken a similar stance towards events in Germany, Littler now appears to have followed through on his threat by withdrawing from the Dutch Darts Championship in Maastricht, which takes place from 16 to 18 October.
Littler is joined on the withdrawal list by Gary Anderson and Josh Rock. They will be replaced by Sebastian Bialecki, Cristo Reyes and Martin Schindler, with Schindler promoted to a seeded position alongside Jermaine Wattimena and Luke Woodhouse.
Littler had already withdrawn from the Players Championship events in ’s-Hertogenbosch on 29 and 30 October.
