Manchester United face Roma in the UEFA Champions League (UCL), looking to kick-start their season after a run of dismal form.

Struggling Manchester United welcome an in-form Roma side to Old Trafford, with Michael Carrick’s job hanging by a thread. In the UCL, United have one win and two losses, with that win being the only win for the Red Devils in their last 10 games.

That one win in the UCL did come at Old Trafford, though, so this game back in home comforts may turn the tide in their favour.

Roma are in terrific form, sitting third in Serie A and having lost only once in all competitions this season, with that one loss coming in dramatic circumstances in the UCL to Real Madrid.

Their record is one win, one loss and one draw in  Europe, so a win here will do well to push them up the league table to try and get into those automatic qualification spots.

Man United team news

Lisandro Martinez was sent off against Chelsea but will be eligible to play in the UCL still. The question is more about whether Carrick will choose to play Martinez because of his bad run of form and the infamous interview he gave a few weeks back.

Bruno Fernandes returned to the starting 11 as well against Chelsea but could do nothing to change their fortunes. Patrick Dorgu, Marcus Rashford, Benjamin Sesko, Luke Shaw and Manuel Ugarte missed the Chelsea game and are all set to be missing on Tuesday as well.
