We're now entering the final stages of this season’s La Liga. With Barça being crowned champions last weekend and the five Champions League teams already decided (Real Madrid, Villarreal, Atlético and Betis will join the LaLiga winners in Europe's most prestigious club competition), there are still two key outcomes to be decided.

It remains to be seen who will secure the last European spots, and which teams will join Real Oviedo in being demoted to the second-tier.

Here are our predictions for LaLiga's penultimate round of fixtures, which will all be played – except the dead rubber between Barcelona and Real Betis – at 18:00 (BST) on Sunday.

Real Oviedo v Alavés

Oviedo v Alavés
Oviedo v AlavésFlashscore

This is a golden opportunity for the Basque outfit to move closer to safety. With Oviedo already relegated, Alavés will be expecting to pick up three crucial points.

In their last five away games under Sánchez Flores, Alavés have scored between one and three goals, with the only exception being their incredible comeback victory against Celta Vigo.

The Babazorros urgent need for points suggests they will attack from the get-go, so we’re expecting Alavés to gain a positive result while netting on at least one occasion.

Prediction: Alavés Double Chance and Alavés to score between one and three goals: 8/15 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet will land if Alavés don't lose and score either one, two, or three goals.

Elche v Getafe

After their defeat to Betis, Elche remain in deep trouble in the fight to avoid relegation. Playing in front of their own supporters should provide a big boost, as they are one of the league’s best home sides (W8, D8, L2).

Elche have scored between one and three goals in eight of their last nine matches at the Estadio Martínez Valero, so don't be surprised if there's a similar outcome against a determined Getafe side.

Although they're still chasing a European place,  José Bordalás' men have shipped between one and three goals in three of their last five away games and are therefore susceptible to conceding here.

Prediction: Elche 1-3 Goals Range: 4/9 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet will land if Elche score either one, two, or three goals.

Atlético Madrid v Girona

Atlético de Madrid v Girona

Girona visit the Metropolitano still requiring points in their bid to avoid the drop.

Atlético Madrid got back to winning ways in Pamplona and want their last home game of the season - and Griezmann’s last in a red-and-white shirt - to be a memorable one.

When they are up for the fight, Atléti are one of the best home teams in the division. Therefore, Los Rojiblancos are expected to overcome a relegation-threatened opponent, who they have scored three or more goals against in each of their last four meetings.

Nevertheless, Girona will undoubtedly set their stall out to attack. Six of Atlético’s last eight league games have seen both teams score, as have five of Girona’s last six, so we expect both teams to find the net.

Prediction: Atlético Madrid to win: 4/5 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet will land if Atlético Madrid win the match.

Levante v Mallorca

Levante v Mallorca

This one is another potentially dramatic clash between two sides fighting for survival. Both have endured tough spells but are now outside the bottom three, thanks to some positive results in recent weeks.

We expect an open contest, as Mallorca have scored in ten consecutive matches and Levante have done so in nine of their last 11, including their last six at home. Both teams also scored in their clash, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Prediction: Both Teams to Score (BTTS - Yes): 4/6 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet will land if both teams score during the match.

Sevilla v Real Madrid

Thanks to their last three results, Sevilla now have genuine hope of preserving their top-flight status. Before coming back from 2-0 down to overcome Villarreal in thrilling fashion, Sevilla earned six crucial points via victories over Espanyol and Real Sociedad.

Those wins will give them the belief they can secure a positive result against Real Madrid, who are currently enduring a turbulent period. Los Blancos have got nothing to play for following last weekend's El Clásico defeat, so don't be surprised if a Sevilla side in desperate need of points take something from the game.

Prediction: Sevilla Double Chance: 4/6 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet will land if Sevilla do not lose the match.

Osasuna v Espanyol

Osasuna v Espanyol
Osasuna v EspanyolFlashscore

Osasuna have lost their last two league games and head into the final stretch with little chance of qualifying for Europe. Espanyol, on the other hand, have seen their dreadful 2026 ruin a promising first half of the season and subsequently threaten their top-flight status. Both sides are now level on 42 points, just three above the drop zone.

We expect a cagey affair, as the Catalans have looked nervous lately and Osasuna often lack attacking impetus. Osasuna have been awarded the third-lowest volume of corners in LaLiga this season (130), while Espanyol rank tenth on this metric.

Furthermore, only two of Osasuna's last 12 league matches have produced 11 or more corners, although these were admittedly their most recent two fixtures.

More than half of Espanyol's last ten away games have seen fewer than 11 corners, while the same can be said of three of the last four meetings between these two sides (including this season's reverse fixture in August).

Prediction: Under 11 Corners: 2/5 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet lands if ten or fewer corners are awarded during the match.

Athletic Bilbao v Celta Vigo

Athletic v Celta
Athletic v CeltaFlashscore

This is arguably one of the marquee matches of the weekend, with both teams evenly matched and currently playing some attractive attacking football.

However, the pair have been a little inconsistent of late, as illustrated by defeats to sides positioned beneath them in the table. This one is particularly difficult to predict, so perhaps just sit back, relax, and enjoy the match without placing a bet.

No bet.

Barcelona v Real Betis, Sunday (20:15)

Barcelona v Betis
Barcelona v BetisFlashscore

This is a clash between two of the league's top five scorers. Barcelona had netted in every league match prior to Wednesday's shock 1-0 loss to Alavés, and have only conceded several goals on home soil.

Betis have scored in each of their last five away fixtures, which has contributed to them scoring more times on the road (24 goals in 18 outings) than most teams in the division.

Furthermore, both teams have scored in each of their most recent five meetings.

Prediction: Both Teams to Score (BTTS - Yes): 8/15 (bet365)

Explanation: This bet will land if both teams score during the match.
