Manchester United were in imperious form against Ipswich Town last time out, scoring five times and missing chances to add even more to their tally. The reintegration of Marcus Rashford at Manchester United worked wonders against the Tractor Boys.

The England international offers a different dimension on United's left flank, and he completes a front four that includes Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes.

That is a heavyweight quartet – with Benjamin Sesko waiting on the bench too – although there are still some question marks about United’s defending.

That will be music to the ears of their former manager, and current Everton boss, Moyes.

The Toffees had a dismal transfer deadline day, with Iliman Ndiaye leaving the club and a late deal to sign American Folarin Balogun falling flat.

The return of Jack Grealish on loan will please Everton fans, but will he provide enough oif the necessary attacking spark in the absence of Ndiaye?

Toffees Coming Unstuck

On paper, Manchester United have the attacking talent to blow Everton away here.

But football is played on grass not paper, as the old cliché goes, and Moyes is an old master of making life difficult for his opposition.

The concern for Everton is finding a consistent route to goal, with Ndiaye – who contributed to around 20% of their goals last season – a huge loss.

Worst still for Moyes is that they have shown some defensive vulnerability so far, yielding 1.96 xG against Crystal Palace on the opening weekend from just 11 shots. Bournemouth, meanwhile, created six ‘big chances’ – as per the data definition – against the Toffees last time out.

Everton have only won three of their last 22 games against Manchester United, and it’s worth noting that no manager has won more Premier League points than Michael Carrick since he took charge of the Red Devils some 20 matches ago.

Tip: Man Utd +0 Asian Handicap @ 6/10 (Bet365)

Explanation: If Man Utd win, so do we. If the game ends in a draw, our stake is refunded. If Everton win, our bet is lost.

Tight and Cagey

When we don’t really fancy one of the teams to score, the Under 3.5 Goals line holds plenty of appeal.

Everton aren’t blessed with attacking resources, and while United have conceded two goals in both of their outings to date, it’s worth adding some context.

Hull caught them cold on the opening weekend with two goals from set pieces, while Ipswich’s second came in injury time when the Red Devils had well and truly taken their foot off the gas having romped into a 5-1 lead.

This Under 3.5 Goals selection still gives us three goals to play with, so there’s wriggle room there – hopefully we won’t need it if Everton lack a cutting edge in the final third of the pitch as expected.

Tip: Under 3.5 Goals @ 4/9 (Bet365)

Explanation: Our bet lands if there are three or fewer goals in the match.

Shooting Their Shot

When combining their shot tallies from their respective Premier League games so far, Manchester United lead Everton by a margin of 54-29.

There are many different variables that go into that, such as game state, but that shot count should not be overlooked all the same.

Here we have two teams with completely different trajectories. United’s first-choice front four of Fernandes, Rashford, Mbeumo and Cunha is brimming with confidence – as such, they will have no qualms in pulling the trigger.

Everton, on the other hand, just lack a little spark in the final third of the pitch, so getting into consistently getting into positions to shoot won’t come easily to them.

Even if United take an early lead, altering the game state, they could well still record more shots at the Everton goal than vice versa.

Tip: Man Utd Most Shots @ 1/2 (Bet365)

Explanation: Our bet lands if Man Utd have more shots at goal than Everton.
