Rangers’ barnstorming form continued last time out with a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock… making it seven wins on the spin for the Glasgow outfit. Can they make it a magnificent eight against Dundee on Saturday? Flashscore betting writer Richard Trenchard thinks so…

Despite long-term injuries to Lawrence Shankland and Youssef Chermiti, Derek McInnes has found a winning recipe with Rangers.

The Gers are hot on the heels of Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership and would love to usurp the Hoops at the summit. But they’ll know that fourth-placed Dundee should not be underestimated.

The Dees have beaten the likes of Aberdeen and Motherwell this term, and they can feel unfortunate not to have taken something from Celtic Park in a 0-1 defeat.

Extreme Confidence

Perhaps the concern for Dundee fans is that when they play Scotland’s elite teams, that’s when they come undone.

Celtic created 2.25 of non-penalty xG against them earlier in the campaign and created three ‘big chances’, while Hearts completely dominated them in September: 72% possession, 27 shots, 14 corners and 47 touches in the Dundee box.

There’s a chance that Dundee could be among the best of the rest in the Premiership this term, but let’s not forget that there is a huge gulf in class between Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and the rest.

As we’ve seen from Rangers’ recent form, McInnes has finally got his ideas ingrained in his players and it’s working to some tune.

The market is predicting that they’ll win this game comfortably, and we do too.

Tip: Rangers to win @ 2/5 (Bet365)

Explanation: Our bet will only land if Rangers win the game.

The Clean Sheet Kings

We can easily see Rangers scoring between 2-4 goals here, and we don’t expect Dundee to contribute much in the final third – hence why we’re backing up our first tip with this 2-4 match goals selection.

The Gers have kept four clean sheets in their last six Premiership outings, conceding twice in those half-a-dozen games and shipping five in eight all season long.

Dundee have found a way to goal against the division’s lesser lights, but once again have struggled against the best in the business. They failed to find the net against Celtic, and scored with their only shot on target against Hearts.

The Dees only scored once in 270 minutes of football against Rangers last term, so with all that in mind it seems logical not to expect Dundee to offer too much of a threat to the Gers on Saturday.

Tip: Match Goals Range: 2-4 @ 4/7 (Bet365)

Explanation: Our bet lands if there are two, three or four goals in the game.

Cracking Under Pressure

In their game against Hearts, Dundee struggled to cope with the attacking onslaught of the Jambos.

They committed 19 fouls and picked up four cards – three yellow, one red – as they defended heartily for much of the contest.

The Dees have home advantage on Saturday, which may subconsciously help them earn the sympathy of the referee, but even so they are going to once again face plenty of game time without the ball.

And Rangers have got some excellent ball carriers too in Djeidi Gassama and Min-Su Kim in particular. Between them, they recorded 12 dribbles against Kilmarnock and drew seven fouls… these are the details that increase the probability of Dundee seeing yellow (or perhaps red) on Saturday.

Tip: Dundee 2+ Cards @ 4/6 (Bet365)

Explanation: Our bet lands if Dundee receive two or more yellow or red cards.
