Following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Haiti in the early hours of Sunday morning, Scotland set the pace in World Cup 2026 Group C. Another would ensure the Tartan Army make it to the knockout rounds for the first time in the tournament’s history. As was the case at the weekend, the result is much more important than the performance for Scotland.
Morocco began by sharing two goals with Brazil in New Jersey. With the Samba Boys expected to score a heavy win over Haiti in Philadelphia, the Africans appreciate the importance of beating Scotland. Will the Atlas Lions grab a first win at ‘We Are 26’?

Total goals - Under 3.5
My first suggested bet ahead of Scotland vs Morocco on Friday evening comes from the total goals market.
You can follow this pick as a single, but the price means it’s best suited to your weekend accumulators and Bet Builders. To secure a profit, you need Scotland vs Morocco to follow the France 98 meeting and end with fewer than four goals scored.
When targeting the total goals market, the winning team, scorers, and times aren’t important. All you’re interested in here is the number of goals scored. A 1-0 win for Scotland pays the same as a second 3-0 win for Morocco over the Scots. You’d even be happy with a dull 0-0 draw.
It’s an easy bet to follow, and the stats make for interesting reading.
Scotland and Morocco have met only once before, with the Africans winning 3-0 in Saint-Etienne, but that was almost 30 years ago. Looking at more recent results, Scotland beat Haiti 1-0, and Morocco ended 1-1 with Brazil. The Scots lost 1-0 to the Ivory Coast and Japan in recent friendlies. Morocco also drew 1-1 with Norway in a warm-up this month.
Tip: Under 3.5 goals @ 2/9 (bet365)
Bet explanation: Scotland vs Morocco must end with fewer than four goals scored by both teams combined.
Match winner - Morocco
Moving to my second pick at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, and I’m picking sides when advising a bet on Morocco in the match-winner market.
An edgy 1-0 win for Mohamed Ouahbi’s team does the same job as a thrilling 5-4 victory. If Morocco end with all three points, your bet wins, and you’ll secure a timely profit ahead of a busy weekend.
Picking Morocco won’t make me too popular with my friends and family in Scotland, but I must remove the emotion from the occasion and focus on the stats.
Morocco recently won the African Cup of Nations. They’re ranked seventh in the world by FIFA, and finished in fourth place at World Cup 2022 in Qatar, after winning their group with seven points.
I watched Morocco thrash Scotland at France 98. Although it was almost three decades ago, and much has changed since, I can’t forget how much better they were that day. Following a draw with Brazil, Morocco know a victory would send them through.
Tip: Morocco win @ 8/11 (bet365)
Bet explanation: If Morocco beat Scotland, moving to 2-0-0 in the head-to-head stats, you’ll beat the bookies and make a profit.

Scorer - Saibari
If you’re a regular reader of my football previews and predictions at Flashscore, you’ll know I like to try and sign off with a pick at higher odds. There’s a little more risk involved here, but you can keep your stakes small and still shoot for a decent return.
On Friday evening, I’m placing my trust in Ismael Saibari to score anytime in the match versus Scotland.
The 25-year-old attacker was born in Spain, but qualifies through Moroccan descent. He has already racked up more than 30 caps for the national team, scoring 10 goals. The PSV Eindhoven star arrives in fantastic form. He scored six goals in his last six appearances, including a brace against Madagascar, and another two when PSV beat Rotterdam 2-0.
Need a little more convincing before parting with your hard-earned cash?
You’ll be interested to know that Saibari scored Morocco’s goal in that important 1-1 draw with Brazil in the opening match from Group C. Ismael found the net with 21 minutes on the clock to give his country a surprise lead, before Vinicius Junior levelled the game 11 minutes later.
Tip: Ismael Saibari to score @ 13/8 (bet365)
Bet explanation: Saibari must score in the match against Scotland, with an early strike as good as a late tap-in.
