Former Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic says that he was a better striker than Manchester City's Erling Braut Haaland who will try to steer Norway to glory at the World Cup

Norway's Erling Braut Haaland has, in recent years, been highlighted as the best player in Scandinavia. The Norwegian has on several occasions secured high positions in the Ballon d'Or polls, but last year it was Viktor Gyökeres who took the prize as the best Scandinavian in 15th place.

During the World Cup premiere broadcast on Fox Sports, where Zlatan Ibrahimovic works as an expert, the question was raised whether Haaland has already reached a higher level than Ibrahimovic.

The Swedish legend had a clear answer. "I'm not sure about that. He needs to do a lot more to reach the "freak of nature," said Ibrahimovic in the studio.

When asked what Haaland needs to do to reach Ibrahimovic's level, the Ibrahimovis said:

"He scores goals and is a 'killer' in the box, but I was more versatile. I enjoyed playing with the ball. He is a 'killer' in the box, is intelligent and does what he needs to do, but he doesn't do more than what he can do. He doesn't waste energy on it", he said and continued:

"I saw an interview with him, where he said that his dream is to touch the ball twice and score two goals. Rather, my dream was to touch the ball twice and score three goals."

Haaland's Norway face Iraq on Wednesday in their first game of the World Cup. In the group stage, the Norwegian national team also faces Senegal and France.
