The only remaining undefeated teams in this season’s Premier League will face off when Crystal Palace look to repeat their Community Shield heroics against high-flying Liverpool.

Match News and Current Form

Palace are soaring this term, as they are not only unbeaten in league action (W2, D3), but have not yet lost this season in any competition (W5, D4). It is the first time that they have remained undefeated in their first five top-flight encounters in a single campaign since 1990/91. All told, they're unbeaten in 11 games in the Premier League (W4, D7) - the longest ongoing run of any side and providing the Eagles the chance to register 12 top-flight matches without defeat for just the second time in their history.

Liverpool have also enjoyed a scintillating start to their season, winning their last seven matches, including their five league outings. The Reds are now looking to win their opening six top-flight games in a single campaign for a fifth time, something that has been done by reigning Premier League champions just twice before (Chelsea in 2005/06 and Manchester City in 2023/24) - both of whom went on to retain their crown.

Head-to-Head History

Palace may have beaten Liverpool on penalties to lift the Community Shield last month, but in the league it has been one-way traffic for the Reds, who have lost just one of the last 16 Premier League H2Hs (W12, D3), while winning on nine of their last ten visits to Selhurst Park (D1).

Hot Stats and Streaks

Only one of Palace’s last ten games has been decided by more than one goal.

Palace have not trailed at half-time in any of their last 11 home matches.

None of Liverpool’s last six games have been decided by more than one goal.

Liverpool have scored first in eight of their last nine away matches.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Palace captain Marc Guéhi was reportedly hours away from a summer move to Liverpool, but that has not impacted his performances for the Londoners, having guided them to five clean sheets in their last eight games. Marquee summer signing Alexander Isak opened his account for Liverpool in midweek against Southampton in the EFL Cup, with four of his last seven club goals now having served as the match opener.

Palace could again be without Ismaïla Sarr due to a hamstring injury, while Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitiké will serve his suspension for getting sent off on Tuesday.

Betting Analysis

Both teams have been involved in tight affairs lately, but it is hard to ignore Liverpool’s winning form, partly thanks to late goals, making the half-time/full-time market of draw/Liverpool a speculative but potentially high-paying bet.
