15:56 BST - Time for an enforced drinks break as we reach the 25-minute mark.

Several players have draped wet cooling towels over their heads to combat the heat.

15:46 BST - Middlesbrough have settled nicely in the first 15 minutes, having just over 75 per cent of possession.

We're still waiting for the first real opportunity to present itself.

15:30 BST - KICK-OFF! Will it be Hull or will it be Middlesbrough to clinch a spot in the Premier League?

15:28 BST - National anthem time. 'God save the King' is belted out and ends with a roar around Wembley. Kick-off is moments away...

15:15 BST - It's a bit of a scorcher today with temperatures set to peak at 29°C at Wembley.

It will be a bit hotter down at pitchside, however, as the sun drenches the cauldron.

14:05 BST - The 'Spygate' furore continues as Hull owner Acun Ilicali has vowed the club will take legal action if they fail to win today's Championship play-off final.

Ilicali told the BBC that Middlesbrough being reinstated is "unbelievable" and an "incredibly wrong decision".

"Our legal team says that we have to go for action, that's for sure," Ilicali said.

"So we have no doubt about it. Here, all we want is justice. If justice is broken, nobody will enjoy football."

13:35 BST - Just one match separates both Hull and Middlesbrough from a return to the Premier League for the first time since 2017.

Boro were in an automatic promotion spot behind Coventry for most of the season, but dropped to fifth after a patchy final few games.

Hull finished sixth and seven points behind Middlesbrough on the final day of the Championship to sneak into the play-offs.

13:19 BST - Middlesbrough were actually beaten by Southampton 2-1 on aggregate in the play-off semi-finals before the Saints were banished.

Southampton's late appeal was rejected after Middlesbrough were reinstated, while manager Tonda Eckert is said to have authorised club staff to covertly watch opponents' training sessions.

13:00 BST - Good afternoon! Welcome to Flashscore's coverage of the Championship play-off final as Hull and Middlesbrough battle for a spot in the Premier League under the famous Wembley arch.

The showpiece has been overshadowed by 'Spygate', which saw Middlesbrough reinstated despite losing their semi-final to Southampton, who were expelled for spying on a Boro training session.

The focus is on the football at 15:30 BST, though, but we suspect this will rumble on for a while...
