World Cup 2026

The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11th to July 19th in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tournament will feature 48 national teams and will be played in 16 modern stadiums.

12:02 BST - The other game in that group saw co-hosts Mexico record maximum points in Group A by brushing aside the Czech Republic 3-0.

Mexico were already confirmed as group winners before a ball was kicked in Mexico City, but a rotated side did the business to conclude a perfect three games.

11:33 BST - Overnight, it was historic joy for South Africa, who qualified for the knockout stage of a World Cup for the first time with a 1-0 win over South Korea in Monterrey.

Thapelo Maseko struck the lone goal in the second half to lift Bafana Bafana through Group A behind co-hosts Mexico.

South Korea have a chance of progression as one of the eight best third-placed teams.
