Another weekend arrives and we at Flashscore have once again compiled a short list of eye-catching matches we think are worth keeping tabs on.

From two absolute Serie A giants locking horns (and we're not talking about the Derby d'Italia) to possible shocks in the Greek and Belgian top flights, take a look at 'Our Picks' below.

Wrexham v Morecambe - Ali Pollock

Down in League Two, the promotion and play-off race is about as close as it can get with just eight points separating second and ninth – with ninth-placed Morecambe also having two games in hand on the majority of the other sides.

They travel to fellow contenders Wrexham on Saturday, hoping to cut down the gap between themselves and the automatic promotion spots.

The Shrimps were relegated from League One last season and are looking for an immediate return to England’s third tier.

Wrexham are doing as many would have expected of them on their return to the football league – the huge investment put into the club has seen them to fourth in League Two, outside the automatic promotion places on only goal difference.

Both sides possess superb goalscorers – with the hosts boasting the talents of Elliot Lee, who has netted 10 already this season, while the visitors have a talisman of their own in Michael Mellon who has scored nine.

Saturday’s match will see two of the league’s better sides come against each other in what is sure to be an entertaining spectacle.

Wrexham average 2.05 goals per game (35 from 18 matches), while Morecambe scoring 1.56 goals per game (25 from 16 matches) – which sets up an exciting fixture for this weekend.

Milan v Fiorentina - Joel Barnett

The top six go head-to-head in Serie A this weekend with table-topping Inter travelling to Juventus, Atalanta hosting Napoli and AC Milan up against Fiorentina in what could be the pick of the bunch.

Fiorentina last qualified for the Champions League in the 2014/15 season, but have steadily risen up the table this term.

After battling to a 2-1 win over Bologna last time out, they travel to the San Siro on Saturday on the cusp of the top four.

Midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura and striker Nicolas Gonzalez have scored more than half of Fiorentina’s goals between them this season and will be looking to add to their tally as I Viola aim to move level on points with the Rossoneri.

Milan are on a four-match winless run in the league and will be missing their talismanic striker Olivier Giroud, who was sent off in their fiery 2-2 draw against Lecce last time out having blown a 2-0 lead.

Remarkably, the Rossoneri’s last win at the San Siro came against Lazio at the end of September and another defeat on Saturday will be the first time they have lost three in a row at home since 2006.

If they lose and fail to score, it will be only the second time in their history they have lost three home matches back-to-back without scoring.

To make matters worse, they could also find themselves 11 points adrift of city rivals Inter - who kick-off on Sunday evening.

The pressure is on, with a make-or-break Champions League clash against Dortmund on the horizon.

Aris v Panathinaikos - Ste Carson

On the cusp of cracking into the top four spots, Aris Thessaloniki face the daunting task of hosting Super League leaders Panathinaikos.

The Shamrock find themselves in superb form, taking eight wins from their last ten domestic matches. Aris, however, aren't going to be pushovers - with three wins in their last five games.

Panathinaikos will be aiming to take all three points back to Anthens, though - with Olympiacos and AEK, who are both just a few points behind, up against the lowly Panetolikos and Giannina respectively.

Although sitting pretty in fifth, Aris will be hoping to claim something this weekend, with Lamia and co. both breathing down their necks.

The hosts will likely be hoping for a draw, then, as Panathinaikos don't give up goals easily (six conceded in 11 matches; the league's best defence record).

It will probably be up to unconventional Aris star Fabiano to grab a goal; the Brazilian already has bagged four times so far this season and is his team's top scorer. Or perhaps Alvaro Zamora, who has also impressed, may be better-placed to to bulge the onion bag.

Panathinaikos, however, have several players they can rely on - Sebastian Palacios has six goal contributions to his name; and Fotis Ioannidis, Andraz Sporar and Bernard all have five.

It'll be a tough task, but going into this match Aris will be feeling good after beating Volos 2-0 away from home. They'll need to channel that energy this weekend if they're to get something against Panathinaikos.

Gent v Royale Union SG - Anthony Paphitis

Arguably the standout fixture in Belgium's Jupiler Pro League takes place at Sunday lunchtime when Gent take on table-toppers Royale Union Saint-Gilloise.

There already appears to be a decent amount riding on this fixture with third-place Gent among the sides looking to close the gap on Union, who have set the pace so far.

The hosts will know the toughness of the task ahead of them, but they will have confidence knowing they are unbeaten in all 12 games they have played at home across all competitions this season.

A draw against Anderlecht before the international break halted a run of five straight wins - two of which were in the league - and one which saw forward Tarik Tissoudali hit form with four goals and three assists.

The Moroccan alongside ever-presents Sven Kums and Hugo Cuypers will need to be on top form this weekend though, with visiting Union proving to be a force.

Last season's runners-up have surged recently, recording eight league wins in succession to already give themselves a six-point cushion at the summit.

Their 34 goals scored is a league-high and that is down to the efforts of top scorer Mohamed Amoura who has eight and the six apiece from Dennis Eckert Ayensa and Gustaf Nilsson.

Union's recent record against Gent will also give them a lift - unbeaten in their last five meetings in all competitions.
