The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11th to July 19th in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tournament will feature 48 national teams and will be played in 16 modern stadiums.

Kalidou Koulibaly makes a hash of clearing the ball and can only square it to Pedersen who lashes the Norwegians ahead.

"The group phase has always been difficult to everyone, and the conditions, the heat and the match stops constantly.
"So that means that that might help the team that is theoretically weaker because they have time to recover."

14:10 BST - Austria manager Ralf Rangnick has admitted that Argentina could prove to be too much for his side, with the reigning world champions having no obvious weaknesses.
"Let's talk about the weaknesses: there are none, not that we were able to observe," Rangnick said.
"Their strengths, they are outstanding. The players can also play with two or three different types of teams.
"I don't know how many people will bet on Austria and how many will bet on Argentina. If you look at the algorithm, it probably says we won't win tomorrow."

13:20 BST - Spain beat Saudi Arabia 4-0 on Sunday afternoon, with manager Luis de la Fuente clapping back at criticism of his side.
"I think it's crazy to question this team," he said.
"We have been unbeaten for 33 consecutive games. You can have better days, worse days, normal days, but questioning, doubting this generation of very young footballers with a bright future, I think it's unfair."

13:00 BST - Salah spoke about the vibes around Egypt's camp after they secured their first-ever World Cup win.
"It's a great achievement for all the players. It's a great win. It's a great vibe. The next game is very important," Salah said as he took the plaudits amongst his teammates.

12:30 BST - Uruguay manager Marcelo Bielsa was less than impressed with his side's result, admitting he felt they should have won both of their World Cup games so far.
"We know we have two draws, two matches that we could have won; we should have been able to win," the 70-year-old Argentine told reporters.
"There's no doubt we deserved to win the match with Saudi Arabia, and also the match today as well. We should have won it. Even with the goals that we conceded, we should have won still."

11:40 BST - Cape Verde manager Bubista spoke of the pride he had for his team after their draw with Uruguay left them within touching distance of a spot in the knockout rounds.
"Since the beginning, what we've been saying is that we would like to compete at the highest possible level, and that's what we're trying to do," Bubista said.
"That's what we've been doing in these two matches, and more important than the result is to be able to show our identity as a team, our strength, our unity, and also our resilience.
"We're here to compete to try to achieve a new dream, which is to qualify for the second round, and I think it's legitimate to think that way."
