World Cup 2026
The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11th to July 19th in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tournament will feature 48 national teams and will be played in 16 modern stadiums.

13:50 BST - Much has been made of England's trip to Mexico and what the Three Lions are up against at Estadio Azteca - the scene of the infamous 'Hand of God' moment 40 years ago.
Sitting more than 2,200 metres (7,220 feet) above sea level, England will have to deal with the Azteca atmosphere while facing a Mexico side with a serious record there – 70 wins, 17 draws and two losses in 89 competitive games.

12:28 BST - Morocco will be France's quarter-final opponents after they dispatched co-hosts Canada 3-0 in Houston.
The Moroccans scored three goals in the second half and are one win away from equalling their historic run to the World Cup semi-finals in 2022.

11:57 BST - Recapping yesterday's last-16 action, France – quite literally – battled past Paraguay 1-0 in searing Philadelphia to continue their march.
Kylian Mbappe's second-half penalty was the difference in an ill-tempered game that incredibly saw no Paraguay players booked despite their focus on the dark arts.
French daily L'Equipe – known for its brutal match ratings – gave referee Ilgiz Tantashev a ONE out of 10, just for reference.

11:00 BST - Good morning! Victories for France and Morocco got the World Cup last 16 underway yesterday and we're back for two more spicy games today, with England in action.
Two of the world's most exciting forwards, Vinicius Junior and Erling Haaland, go head to head when Brazil face Norway in New Jersey.
That is before England run the gauntlet against Mexico at the iconic Estadio Azteca as they look to negotiate the altitude, inclement weather and the Mexicans' daunting record at the venue.
