The 2026 World Cup will be held from June 11th to July 19th in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The tournament will feature 48 national teams and will be played in 16 modern stadiums.

Julian Ryerson is injured, but Ørjan Nyland, Sander Berge, Torbjørn Heggem, Erling Haaland, Antonio Nusa, Martin Ødegaard, Kristoffer Ajer, Alexander Sørloth and David Møller Wolfe all drop out as well.
Meanwhile, Didier Deschamps has made four changes to the French XI who faced Iraq -- Théo Hernández, Maxence Lacroix, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Désiré Doué are in for William Saliba, Adrien Rabiot, Lucas Digne and Bradley Barcola.

16:45 BST - Late into the night, Belgium will take on New Zealand with a place in the knockout stages at stake - the Red Devils have still not won a game and have scored just once at the 2026 World Cup.
Jeremy Doku left the camp to see the birth of his child, but has now returned to the squad and battled through illness in a race to be fit for the crucial match.
"Jeremy came back three days ago. So, he only participated in the practice today. He did a little more, but he did not train during seven days and that's not insignificant," manager Rudi Garcia told reporters.

12:20 BST - Sweden boss Graham Potter was pleased with his side reaching the knockout rounds, and defended his team selection for the draw with Japan.

11:55 BST - Japan played out a 1-1 draw with Sweden last night, and manager Hajime Moriyasu revealed he hoped that other Asian teams can take inspiration from his side.
"I know that other Asians teams are not as successful.
"Even if today we couldn't get the win, I would like us to be able to encourage other Asian teams as well, and we would like to be their hope."

11:35 BST - Curacao boss Dick Advocaat - the oldest manager to ever coach at a World Cup - was proud of his side after they were eliminated at the hands of Ivory Coast last night.

11:20 BST - Ivory Coast enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 win over Curacao last night, and star man Nicolas Pepe was delighted to make history with his nation as they reached the knockout stages for the first time.
"We are delighted and proud to be the first Ivory Coast team to reach the knockout rounds. Everyone has worked hard for this and we have got our reward," said Pepe, who scored both goals against Curacao in Philadelphia, one in each half.
"We are setting no limits. We have huge potential. Now we are into the knockout rounds so we will see what happens."

11:10 BST - Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann admitted his side committed 'tactical suicide' in their loss to Ecuador.
"We got off to a great start," Nagelsmann said. "Unfortunately, right after scoring, we started committing tactical suicide with our positioning. That makes things difficult.
"Ecuador had everything to play for, and you could tell - they had their foot on the gas. But I also can't say that any of my players didn't give it their all. That's too simplistic."
